Raider Ready: Alejandro Coronado Magana Headed to Texas Tech University! ⚫🔴
Congratulations to Cotulla High School Senior Alejandro Coronado Magana on his admission to Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas for Fall 2026! Alejandro will major in Mechanical Engineering as he begins his journey in Raiderland.
A true leader and scholar, Alejandro is a 4-year member of the Mighty Cowboy Band, serving as MCB Drum Major, and a dedicated 4-year member of Mariachi Cotuleño. His leadership extends beyond music as the National Honor Society Parliamentarian, an active Student Council member, FFA member, and a UIL Academics competitor.
Alejandro’s hard work in the classroom has truly set him apart. Through dual enrollment with Southwest Texas College in Uvalde, Texas, he will graduate with at least 18 academic college semester hours and 24 technical college hours, along with earning his Welding Certification in May 2026.

The Cotulla Cowgirl Powerlifting Team is headed to Regionals with 19 Cowgirls in total! 💪
The following athletes have officially qualified in their respective weight classes for the Region V, 3A Division II Texas High School Women’s Powerlifting Association (THSWPA) Regional Meet.
We are proud of every single one of these athletes who have put in the work for this season. Now it’s their time to step onto a bigger stage and represent Cotulla with the strength and confidence of a Cowgirl.

From CHS to UIW — Wyatt Almendarez is Headed to San Antonio! ✨🎓
Congratulations to Cotulla High School Senior Wyatt Almendarez on his acceptance to the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas for Fall 2026! Wyatt plans to major in Fashion Design and Marketing, where he will combine creativity and business to pursue his passion in the fashion industry.
Wyatt is currently a dual enrollment student at Southwest Texas College, majoring as a Patient Care Technician. He will graduate in May 2026 earning his Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) and Electrocardiogram (EKG) certifications.
In addition to his academic success, Wyatt is an active member of the Cotulla High School Student Council and works as a lifeguard at the La Salle County Martinez Sports Complex.

A huge thank you to the Texas Department of State Health Services – Region 8 in Pearsall, Texas, for visiting Cotulla High School in recognition of Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month.
Their representatives provided valuable, age-appropriate resources focused on building healthy relationships, recognizing warning signs of teen dating violence, and understanding how and where to seek help. The information shared will empower our students to make informed decisions and support one another.
We truly appreciate DSHS–Region 8 for investing time and care into the well-being and safety of our students. Together, we continue to create a stronger, more informed school community. 💜

🌟 Cotulla High School Leadership Starts Here! 🌟
On February 19, 2026, students in our English 1 Honors and English 2 Honors classes had the incredible opportunity to meet with Julio Cotto, Senior Vice-President of the National Hispanic Institute. He shared valuable information about this summer’s prestigious leadership conferences and encouraged our students to step into their leadership potential.
Students also had the chance to hear directly from NHI alumni about their experiences. Brooklyn Kuenstler, CHS Junior, who attended the Lorenzo De Zavala (LDZ) Conference in July 2025, shared, “NHI is a great opportunity to step outside of your box and make friends.”
