On Wednesday, October 28, CHS Student Ambassadors once again had the exciting opportunity to visit the La Salle County Courthouse for an engaging, hands-on learning experience focused on exploring careers in public safety, law enforcement, and emergency response!

Throughout the visit, students interacted with dedicated professionals from multiple local, state, and federal agencies, including the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), La Salle County EMS and Fire Rescue, La Salle County Police Department, Encinal Detention Center, Game Warden, and U.S. Border Patrol. Students had the opportunity to ask questions, learn about the responsibilities of each agency, and gain valuable insight into the many career paths available right here in their own community.

One of the highlights of the day was the opportunity for one of our student ambassadors to assist with flying a drone alongside a local police officer! Experiences like these bring learning to life and allow students to explore potential future careers in an exciting, interactive way.

We would like to extend a special thank-you to CISD Superintendent Dr. Ramiro Nava and the La Salle County Bridges to Success Program and its dedicated team, including Program Coordinator Sara Adams, JPO Tyrese Perkins, Chief JPO Kassie Valenzuela, and Nadia Del Toro, for helping provide our students with meaningful opportunities to connect with community professionals and explore their futures.

We are incredibly proud of our CHS Student Ambassadors for representing our school with outstanding behavior, enthusiasm, curiosity, and a genuine eagerness to learn. Their engagement throughout the visit demonstrated the importance of connecting classroom learning with real-world experiences and exposing students to opportunities that can shape their futures.
