On Friday January 27, Demetrius Del Real (Cotulla) and Marko Cantu (Encinal), attended the 2023 Region 11 Mariachi Clinic & Concert at Southwest Legacy High School in San Antonio.
This two-day event consisted of rehearsing music with students from across the region under the direction of clinicians: John Lopez (Group 1), Jesse Rios (Group 2), and Albert Martinez (Middle School). Demetrius Del Real earned a spot in Group 1 on Violin and Marko Cantu earned a spot in Group 2 on Guitarra De Golpe.
On Saturday January 28, students attended their last clinic in preparation for the concert. Various selections were played from all groups for an enjoyable evening of Mariachi music. A big congratulations to these students for representing themselves, Mariachi Cotuleño, Cotulla ISD, and Cotulla with pride!
